Next Book Sale in May

May Book Sale: May 5-12.
Presale: May 5, 10:00 a.m. to approx. 1:00 p.m. Publice Sale: May 5, starting 1:00 p.m. Sale will continue during regular library hours thru Saturday, May 12.

Friends of the Library will set up on Saturday, May 5, at 10:00 a.m. and the sale will be open to the public after we're done setting up that day, probably around 1:00. The presale will be during the set-up time. You help with the sale; you get first dibs on the books. Book buyers may make only personal purchases during the presale. At 1:00 or whenever we've finished setting up, the sale will be open to everyone. We'll take down at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, the 14th. Lots of freebies are available during takedown, so join Friends and enjoy the perks!

Book Sale Prices
All books $2 or less, with discounts the last few days. Cash or check only. More details to be posted close to sale time. All sales benefit the Meridian Library District.

Book Sale Record & Next Meeting

We earned $1600 at our recent book sale!!! That's a record for us! Thanks so much to those who helped us set up, man the store, and take down. We had TONS of books, so it was a lot of work to sort them, etc. We had a few members who put in a lot of time, and we are so grateful: Pam, Gayla & Ray, John, Don, Terri, Susan, Dawn. and Russ. A few others stopped in to help for an hour or so. To all of you--we are so grateful. Your efforts, great or small, truly made a difference.

To allow us more planning time, we've rescheduled our January meeting for February. An exact date will be posted soon. In that meeting, we'll determine how our funds are to be used and set goals for the start of our Special Needs Collection. Please feel free to come and give your input and support. We'll meet for one hour.

Book Donations

The Meridian Library District gladly accepts donations of your books and audiovisual items. We ask that they be in good condition. Please, no manuals of any kind, textbooks, VHS, or audiocassettes. You may drop off donations at the Circulation Desk, where you will be given a receipt. Please understand that the library staff has been asked to sort through donated items. Due to limited shelf and storage space, some items may not be accepted.

Book Club Book Sets Available

Thanks to funds raised by Friends of the Library, several book sets are now available for book club use. Visit the library's website: www.mld.org. Under Reader Services you'll find information about the sets. Books can be checked out by each book club member.

We Are a 501c3!!!

We just received word that we've been approved as a 501c3 nonprofit organization. And we are thrilled! It's been a long process, and we're finally there! So please help us spread the word to potential donors.
